Meet Miranda

Miranda is the first person to tell you how much the WIA (now WIOA) program changed her life. Coming out of high school, she said she didn’t have much confidence in herself and little idea of where she was going. She had an idea that she wanted to get into child care, but didn’t know how to begin. After meeting with our Career Services Specialists, she started to get some direction pretty quickly with field trips, career exploration, and skills assessment. A work experience slot with the local Head Start program provided some valuable hands-on time with young children. She continued working with us and then a position as a Nutrition Aide in the classroom opened up. Miranda jumped at the chance, where she now serves food to the children and is the third teacher in the classroom. Plus, she adds, none of the services cost her a penny. Through this, she figured out where she wanted to be and has her dream job.

Congratulations Miranda and thank you to the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board for funding another dream come true.
